How the Apex consistency rule works

When you request a payout from an Apex Performance Account, Apex checks that your single best day is no more than 50% of your total profit since the last payout. The rule exists so a funded trader proves a repeatable process, not one outlier session. If your biggest day is more than half your total, the payout is held until you dilute that day with more profitable days.

The 2026 change: 30% to 50%

Apex 4.0 launched March 1, 2026 and raised the consistency cap on PA accounts from 30% to 50%. That is a meaningful loosening: under the old 30% rule a $1,000 day required $3,333 in total profit to withdraw; under 50% it needs $2,000. A lot of calculators and YouTube videos still quote 30%. This one uses 50%.

Which accounts it applies to

The consistency rule applies to Apex Performance Accounts, not the evaluation. In the eval you only need the profit target without breaching the trailing drawdown or daily loss. The rule comes into play once you are funded and trying to take money out.

Frequently asked

What is the Apex consistency rule?
On Apex Performance Accounts, no single trading day can make up more than 50% of your total profit when you request a payout. It stops one lucky day from carrying the account. If your best day is more than half your total profit, you have to trade more profitable days to dilute it before you can withdraw.
Did the Apex consistency rule change to 50%?
Yes. Apex 4.0, which launched March 1, 2026, relaxed the consistency requirement on PA accounts from 30% to 50%. Many older calculators and guides still show 30%, which is now wrong. This tool uses the current 50% figure.
Does the consistency rule apply to the evaluation?
No. The consistency rule applies to Apex Performance Accounts, not the evaluation phase. During the eval you only need to hit the profit target without breaking the trailing drawdown or daily loss rules.
How do I fix a consistency violation?
You cannot shrink a day that already happened, so you dilute it: keep trading profitable days until your biggest day falls under 50% of the new, larger total. The calculator shows exactly how much more profit you need.
