On an Apex EOD account, the daily loss limit is a hard floor on how much you can lose in one session. It scales with size: $500 on a 25K, $1,000 on a 50K, $1,500 on a 100K, and $2,000 on a 150K. Reach it and the day is over. Your room left is simply the limit minus what you are already down.
EOD only
Only the EOD account type has a daily loss limit. If you trade an Apex intraday account, there is no daily cap, just the trailing drawdown floor. For that, use the trailing drawdown calculator instead.
Why the reset time matters
The limit refills at 4:59 PM ET. A loss late in one session and a loss early in the next can feel like one bad run, but they sit on opposite sides of the reset, so each has its own full budget. Knowing where you are against today’s limit keeps a rough afternoon from turning into a blown account.
Frequently asked
- What is the Apex daily loss limit?
- On Apex EOD accounts you cannot lose more than a set amount in a single day: $500 on a 25K, $1,000 on a 50K, $1,500 on a 100K, $2,000 on a 150K. Hit it and your session ends until the daily reset.
- Do Apex intraday accounts have a daily loss limit?
- No. Only the EOD account type carries a daily loss limit. Apex intraday accounts have no daily loss cap, only the trailing drawdown. This calculator is for EOD accounts.
- When does the Apex daily loss limit reset?
- At 4:59 PM ET, the futures end-of-day mark. Your loss budget refills for the next session at that point.
- Is the daily loss limit based on realized or open P&L?
- It tracks your account drawdown during the day, so open losses count against it in real time, not just closed trades. Plan your remaining room with your worst-case open risk in mind.
